Personal loan without a salary slip: what you can use instead

Yes, you can apply. A salary slip is one way to show your income, not the only one. You still need to show your income in some form, and the lender decides which proof it accepts.

Paid in cash by a small employer. Paid per job, per client or per delivery. Paid by your own shop. Plenty of people earn steadily and never see a payslip. On the Rinn app you can apply for ₹10,000 to ₹2,00,000 over 3 to 24 months, from RBI-regulated lending partners, with no upfront fee.

Who applies without a salary slip

More people than you'd think. If one of these sounds like you, you're in the right place:

What can replace a salary slip?

The lender tells you in the app which income proof it accepts. We'll publish its confirmed list here, word for word, as soon as we have it.

Until then, here's what lenders in India commonly ask for. This is general market practice, not Rinn's list:

  • Bank statements showing regular income credits, often for the last 3 to 12 months.
  • Income tax returns (ITR), often for the last one or two years.
  • Form 16 or Form 26AS, if tax was deducted on your income.
  • GST returns or Udyam registration, for people who run a business.

Can I get a loan on my bank statement?

Many lenders accept a bank statement that shows regular income as proof. Whether the lender behind Rinn does, and for how many months, is awaiting its confirmation.

Is ITR accepted instead of a salary slip?

Often, yes, across the market. For Rinn, the lender will confirm whether it accepts an ITR and for how many years.

What you can't skip

A missing salary slip changes how you show your income. It doesn't change the basics. Every application on Rinn needs:

  • A PAN in your own name.
  • Aadhaar e-KYC, linked to a mobile number you can receive codes on, plus a live selfie in the app.
  • A savings bank account in your own name, where the lender pays the loan and collects your EMIs.
  • Your consent to a credit-bureau check. The lender only checks with your separate, explicit permission.
  • Proof of income in some form, if the lender asks for it.

Can I get a loan without income proof?

No, and you shouldn't want one. A lender that doesn't check whether you can repay isn't being generous; it's planning to make its money some other way.

That's why loan offers promising you won't need any paperwork or proof of income are a warning sign. They're often how fake apps open the conversation, before asking for an "upfront processing fee" that never comes back, or access to your contacts. A regulated lender checks your income because it has to lend responsibly, and because an EMI you can't carry helps nobody.

Rinn never asks for money before a loan, never asks for documents outside the app, and repayments go only to the lender. How to spot a fake loan app →

Can I get a ₹50,000 loan without a salary slip?

You can apply for ₹50,000, or any amount from ₹10,000 to ₹2,00,000. What the lender offers depends on the income you can show and the EMIs you already pay.

Amount Tenure EMI at 16% p.a.
₹10,000 6 months ₹1,745
₹50,000 12 months ₹4,537
₹50,000 24 months ₹2,448

A longer tenure lowers each EMI but costs more in total. Compare both in the personal loan EMI calculator.
