Is Rinn real? Two names, one company
Yes, Rinn is real. Rinn is our personal loan app. Rinncrest — in full, Rinncrest Financial Technologies Private Limited — is the company that builds and runs it. That's why the app says Rinn, while the Play Store developer name, this website and our legal documents say Rinncrest. They're the same organisation.
The money itself is lent by a third name: our RBI-regulated lending partners (NBFCs and banks), listed on our Lending Partners page and named in your Key Fact Statement (KFS) — the short summary of your loan's rate, charges and terms that you see before you accept. Rinncrest is a Lending Service Provider (LSP): a company the lender authorises to run the digital journey for its loans. It runs the app and does not lend.
| Name | Who it is | What it does for you |

| Rinncrest Financial Technologies Private Limited | The company behind Rinn · CIN U62099WB2026PTC287520 | Builds and operates Rinn as a Lending Service Provider |
| Our lending partners | The lender · RBI-regulated NBFC or bank · listed on our Lending Partners page and named in your KFS | Decides on your loan, lends the money and receives your repayments |

No upfront fee, ever. Applying through Rinn is free, and no fee is collected before your loan is disbursed. Anyone asking you to pay to approve or release a loan isn’t us.
What Rinn will never do
- Never ask for money to approve or release a loan. Applying is free, and no upfront fee is ever collected before disbursal. Any applicable charges are shown in your Key Fact Statement and handled by the lender as set out there.
- Never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN, card details or passwords — by call, message, email or in the app.
- Never ask you to repay to an individual, a personal UPI ID, a QR code sent by message, or in cash. Repayments go only to the lender’s account shown in your KFS or in Rinn, through Rinn or your auto-debit mandate.
- Never ask you to install another app, a screen-sharing app or an APK file.
- Never access your contacts, photos, SMS or call logs, and never contact your family or friends about your loan.
- Never threaten, shame or abuse you, or post about you anywhere.
- Never promise "guaranteed" or "instant" approval. The lender decides after assessing your application.
How to check a call, message or link
Ask yourself these four questions. If the answer to any of them is yes, stop.
- Are they asking for money before a loan is disbursed?
- Are they asking for an OTP, PIN or password?
- Did the message come from an email that doesn’t end in @rinncrest.in, or point to a website other than rinncrest.in?
- Are they asking you to pay somewhere other than Rinn or your mandate?
Still unsure? Hang up, then open Rinn yourself and check your loan, or contact us using the details on this page — never the number or link in the message you received.
How to find Rinn in RBI’s Digital Lending Apps directory
RBI keeps a public directory of Digital Lending Apps (DLAs), reported by the regulated lenders behind them. Rinn appears in it, as reported by our RBI-regulated lending partner. A listing shows that an app is linked to a regulated lender; it is not an approval, endorsement or certification of Rinn or Rinncrest by RBI.
- Open the Reserve Bank of India website and go to the Digital Lending Apps directory.
- Search for your lender’s name, exactly as it appears in your Key Fact Statement.
- Look for Rinn in the list of apps linked to that lender.
How fake loan apps work
Most loan scams follow one of a few patterns.
The advance-fee scam. You're promised a loan — often "pre-approved" or "guaranteed" — but first you must pay a "processing fee", "GST", "insurance" or "file charge". You pay, then another fee appears. The loan never does.
The data-grab app. An app from outside the Play Store, or a short-lived listing, asks for access to your contacts, photos and messages. It may disburse a small amount, then demand far more back within days — and threatens to message everyone in your phone if you don't pay.
The impersonator. Someone uses a real company's name, logo or a lookalike website to seem legitimate. They may call about a "loan offer", an "overdue EMI" or a "KYC update", and ask you to pay or share an OTP.
The fake recovery call. Someone claims you owe money on a loan — sometimes one you never took — and pressures you to pay immediately to a personal UPI ID or bank account.
Red flags of a fake loan app
Any one of these is reason to stop.
- A fee to approve or release a loan.
- “Guaranteed”, “instant” or “no checks at all” approval.
- An APK file or app link sent through WhatsApp or SMS.
- Requests for access to your contacts, photos, messages or call logs.
- No named lender, or no Key Fact Statement before you accept.
- A personal UPI ID, a QR code sent by message, or a cash payment.
- Threats, abuse, public shaming or pressure to act in minutes.
Always check the annual cost, including interest and charges. Understand APR and loan costs.
How to check if a loan app is RBI-registered
RBI registers lenders, not apps, so there is no such thing as an “RBI-approved” app. What you can check is which regulated entity (RE) — the RBI-registered bank or NBFC that actually lends — is behind an app, and whether it has reported that app to RBI.
- Find the lender’s name. Look in the loan offer, the Key Fact Statement, the app’s website and its Play Store description for the lender’s full legal name. If you can’t find one, walk away.
- Check the lender with RBI. Search RBI’s list of registered NBFCs (or banks) for that exact name, and match the Certificate of Registration number.
- Check the Digital Lending Apps directory. Look for the same app, linked to the same lender. Not appearing, or appearing under a different lender, is a serious warning sign.
- Check the Play Store developer. Compare the developer’s name, email, website and address with the lender or the service provider it names. For Rinn, the developer is Rinncrest Financial Technologies Private Limited.
- Run the red-flag check. Even a listed app should name its lender, show a KFS before you accept and never ask for an upfront fee.
- Report anything suspicious using the routes below.
How to report a fake loan app or fraud
Don’t pay, don’t share codes, don’t click links. If you’ve lost money or shared bank details, call 1930 straight away and contact your bank to block the transaction or card.
- Lost money or shared an OTP?
- Call 1930, the National Cyber Crime helpline, then your bank. Report online at cybercrime.gov.in (opens in a new tab).
- Threatened or harassed by a loan app?
- Call 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in (opens in a new tab). You can also go to your local police station.
- An unregistered app or lender?
- Report it on RBI’s Sachet portal (opens in a new tab).
- Someone is using Rinn’s name?
- Email grievance@rinncrest.in with screenshots, the number, link or app name. It helps us warn others and get fakes taken down.
- A fake app on Google Play?
- Use Flag as inappropriate on its Play Store page, and tell us if it uses our name.
- A regulated lender treated you unfairly?
- Complain to the lender first. If your complaint is not resolved within 30 days of the lender receiving it, or you’re unhappy with the reply, you can complain to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in or call 14448. How to raise a complaint.
Keep screenshots, call logs, payment references, the app’s name and the link you downloaded it from. Don’t delete the app or messages until you’ve reported — they’re evidence.
If a loan app is harassing you
If an app you never meant to trust is threatening you or messaging your contacts:
- Don't pay to make it stop. Payments to these apps usually lead to bigger demands.
- Stop sharing. Revoke the app's permissions in your phone's settings, then uninstall it after you've saved screenshots.
- Report it on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in, and to Sachet.
- Warn the people in your contacts, briefly, that they may get false messages about you and should ignore them.
- Talk to someone you trust. You've done nothing shameful; you were targeted by criminals.
If the harassment names Rinn or Rinncrest, tell us immediately. Rinn doesn't access your contacts, so messages to your contacts claiming to be from Rinn are not from us.
Questions people ask
Questions people ask
Is Rinn RBI approved?
No loan app is RBI approved, because RBI does not approve apps. RBI registers lenders, and the lender behind your Rinn loan is an RBI-regulated NBFC or bank. It is named in your Key Fact Statement (KFS) before you accept, and our lending partners are listed on the Lending Partners page.
Does Rinn charge a fee before giving me a loan?
No. Applying is free, and no fee is ever collected before your loan is disbursed. If someone asks you for money in Rinn's name, don't pay. Report it on 1930 and email grievance@rinncrest.in so we can act on it.
What is the Rinn customer care number?
Rinn support is on +91 81003 92196, at support@rinncrest.in, and in the Rinn app under Help. Any other number claiming to be Rinn customer care isn't ours, including numbers in search ads or on other websites.
Is there a Rinn app for iPhone?
Coming soon on iOS. For now, Rinn is available on Android through Google Play, where the app is titled "Rinn". Any Rinn or Rinncrest app on the App Store isn't ours, and we never send APK files or download links by message.
Is a loan app safe just because it is on Google Play?
No. Being on Google Play is not proof that a loan app is genuine. Check that the app names an RBI-registered lender in full, that the lender is registered with RBI, and that you see a Key Fact Statement before you accept.
Is there an official list of fake loan apps?
No. RBI does not publish a list of fake apps, and lists on blogs or aggregator sites are not official. If an app names no lender, or you can't find that lender on RBI's registers, treat it with great caution. RBI's Sachet portal lets you report unregulated entities.
Someone called about an overdue Rinn EMI and asked me to pay to a UPI ID. Is that real?
No. Rinn repayments go only to the lender, in the Rinn app or by your e-mandate, never to a personal UPI ID, a QR code sent by message or cash. Hang up and open Rinn yourself to see what you owe, or call our support on the number above. If it turns out to be fake, report it on 1930.
I paid a "processing fee" to get a loan and got nothing. What now?
Call 1930 and your bank straight away, and report at cybercrime.gov.in. Keep all payment details and screenshots, and don't pay any second fee. If the app was linked to a regulated lender, complain to that lender too.
